Black Swan and Energy Transition

World Energy Outlook

7th edition

November 19, 2020

Covid-19’s impact on the energy sector and the prospects for accelerating the energy transition were the two main themes of the World Energy Outlook 2020, launched in october by the International Energy Agency (IEA).

These themes are interconnected and subject to great short-term uncertainties, in particular regarding the duration and severity of the pandemic, its economic implications and the extent to which energy and sustainability are incorporated into recovery strategies.

It was with this approach that E+ Institute ended the series Black Swan and Energy Transition, which, throughout the year 2020, brought together experts to discuss the impact of the pandemic on the energy sector.

To discuss the main Outlook messages, the webinar invited Daniel Wetzel, one of the responsible for producing the IEA report. To moderate the closing event, had the former Environment Minister Izabella Teixeira.
