Social Challenges of Energy Transition and Carbon Pricing
December 10, 2019
The second panel at COP 25, promoted by E+ Institute addressed the social unrests that have been taking place in recent years in countries such as Brazil, France and Chile, and whose main trigger was the rising cost of energy (power and fossil fuels).
In this sense, the aim of the event was to bring to debate the relationship between the energy transition and the consequences of these movements for the population, pointing out challenges, opportunities and new perspectives as well. The panelist were Philipp Hauser, senior consultant of German think tank Agora Energiewende, Joaquim Levy, former Brazilian Minister of Finance, Javier González, AIDA Coordinator’s, and Felipe Zúñiga, from FIMA.
